"From birth, man carries the weight of gravity on his shoulders.

He is bottled to earth.

But man has only to sink beneath the surface and he is free."

- Jacques Yves Cousteau

Frozen Ceiling

If the cameras freeze, they will stop working.

It’s been a while since I released a film, or at least one I created purely for the sake of creating. Life can be often too distracting. Nothing brings you back to the present more so than some ice cold water and a little frost bite.

The goal of this short piece was to explain the simplicity of a breath hold and the deeper thoughts in the mind when pushing your body to such limits.

I just wanted to first off thank Geoff Combs and Andrew Ryzebol our fearless Canadian Ice guides.Thank you for dealing with us and keeping everyone safe under the ice.

BLUE - the film

Blue is a powerful film about our oceans. It charts the challenges we face and the opportunities for positive change. Filmed in Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, the South Pacific and the United States, this stunning cinematic documentary comes at a time when we are making critical decisions that will decide the legacy we leave for generations to come.

YETI Presents: Carter Andrews

A fisherman down to the DNA, Carter Andrews has no choice but to go out there and catch everything that swims. Described by a friend as a “wild man”, he does have a certain intensity about him. But you don’t have only anglers as friends unless you’re still lit up with raw joy every time a fish bites.

Project Hiu

LBF conservation

The film of project Hiu

In 2018, a small team travelled to one of Indonesia’s largest shark fisheries with one intention, to befriend a shark fisherman. In a world where shark stocks are collapsing, changing generations of shark fishermen who fish for survival is essential, but nearly impossible. There is one trade however, that can rival the multi million-dollar shark trade, one trade that can save sharks and people, a trade that thrives on something that wont go extinct, tourism.

This short film depicts the initial journey of project Hiu (project shark) to find a shark fisherman among the fleet, willing to let us onto his boat and pay him for tourism, distracting the boat from its usual shark fishing trip.

"I started this underwater journey somewhere in the summer of 2012. In the beginning, it was all about the art of free diving and spearfishing. Since then, Last Breath Film has evolved into so much more. We are now a well know underwater production company specializing in freedive cinema.

From the crocodile infested waters of the Amazon, to the underwater ice currents in the Arctic circle, we not only survived the elements but thrive in these less than desirable filming conditions."
